Bethesda believes strongly in "reaching the next generation." Our vision is to be a multigenerational, multicultural fellowship. And we are following God's call for us to train and equip those who are called to full-time ministry, helping them be a blessing to their day and generation.
On a Sunday in January 2012, Pastor Dan shared his vision for a school of ministry with the congregation. Less than a week later, an opportunity came to partner with Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) to create an extension site at Bethesda's campus. After much prayer the decision was made to launch the Bethesda School of Ministry (BSM) as a part of SAGU. The partnership allowed BSM to open its inaugral semester with full accreditation and solid academics.
Each student completes his or her first two years at Bethesda, participating in internships and observations hours with the Bethesda's pastoral and ministry team. Students aren't just relegated to "lowly intern tasks." They take part in actual ministry work, meetings, and pastoral care situations.
Our heart is to pass along the good things of the Lord that never change while allowing the next generation to do things in a way that is relevant to their culture.
